PayPal has been attracting thousands of customers with
their offers and so called safety measures, but the fact is customers end up
paying huge fees. Their customer support is poor, to say the least. If you are

explain my bad experience with them.
I placed an order for a laptop from eBay, and paid the
quoted amount, using my PayPal account.
I was promised the delivery of the product in 7 working days. However, I was
not happy when I received the product, as it didn’t meet my specifications.
Moreover the color was different, and somewhere I felt it was a poor quality
product.
I approached the PayPal customer service to check the
procedure for returning the product and filing a chargeback from the seller.
Well, I was informed that the product cannot be returned as it was not covered under
the chargeback item. It is indeed surprising, as I have read their terms and
conditions, and I know that the particular product is covered under the policy.
So I read out the rule book to the lady representative,
who strongly disagreed to this rule. At the end, when I insisted of talking to
a supervisor, she half heartedly agreed to this rule. Well, I was asked to wait
for a couple of days before I can file for chargeback, so I agreed to wait.
When I got no response from them for next 2 days, and then I called up the PayPal customer
service.
To my shock I was informed that nothing can be done, and
the product doesn’t fall under the chargeback policy. I fail to understand
their User Agreement which states, PayPal will reimburse all their users for
losses, and they will be contact the sellers to compensate.
In my case the PayPal customer service gave a flat answer,
and refused to help me. I am now stuck with a sub standard laptop, which will
not serve my purpose at all. In fact, I will have to spend a hefty amount in
upgrading the system, so that I can use it for my business purpose. It was
later I found that there were many customers like me, who are stuck with
products which doesn’t meet their requirements.
I don’t understand how PayPal can make tall claims about
their security and trustworthiness. People like me agree to purchase products only
after trusting the brand name of PayPal. I will never ever purchase any
products through PayPal.
